Download news into slrn news spool

Usage

slrnpull [-h hostname] [-d spooldir] [--expire] [--post] [--new-groups]

Overview

Slrn is capable of allowing a user to read news offline. This is accomplished by using slrn in conjunction with the the slrnpull program. Basically, slrnpull pulls a small newsfeed from an NNTP server which slrn will subsequently read.

Options

-d spooldir

Specify the directory to download news into. Default is /var/spool/slrnpull.

-h hostname

Specify the name of the NNTP server that will be used for pulling the news feed. If not specified, the value of the NNTPSERVER variable is used.

--expire

Run in expire mode. No attempt will be made to download news.

--post

Post any out-going articles, but do not attempt to download any new articles from the server.

--new-groups

Query the server to see if there are any new groups.
