# wslay\_event\_config\_set\_allowed\_rsv\_bits(3)

Set allowed reserved bits

## NAME

wslay\_event\_config\_set\_allowed\_rsv\_bits - Set allowed reserved bits

## SYNOPSIS

\#include \<wslay/wslay.h\>

- **void wslay\_event\_config\_set\_allowed\_rsv\_bits(wslay\_event\_context\_ptr ctx, uint8\_t rsv)**

  ## DESCRIPTION

*wslay\_event\_config\_set\_allowed\_rsv\_bits()* sets a bit mask of allowed reserved bits (RSVs). Currently only permitted values are **WSLAY\_RSV1\_BIT** to allow PMCE extension (see *RFC 7692*) or **WSLAY\_RSV\_NONE** to disable.

When bits other than **WSLAY\_RSV1\_BIT** is set in *rsv*, those bits are simply ignored.

The set value is used to check the validity of reserved bits for both transmission and reception of WebSocket frames.

## RETURN VALUE

This function always succeeds, and there is no return value.
