# visir\_util\_spc\_txt2fits(7)

Generate spectrum calibration FITS tables

## NAME

visir\_util\_spc\_txt2fits - Generate spectrum calibration FITS tables

## SYNOPSIS

esorex **visir\_util\_spc\_txt2fits** \[OPTIONS\] FILE.sof

## DESCRIPTION

This recipe shall be used to generate spectrum calibration tables.

The sof file shall consist of 1 line with the name of an ASCII-file currently tagged with either SPC\_LINES\_ASCII or SPC\_QEFF\_ASCII.

The file must comprise two columns: 1st: Must be wavelengths in increasing order in units of meter 2nd: For SPC\_LINES\_ASCII-files must be the atmospheric emission, while\
for SPC\_QEFF\_ASCII-files must be the quantum efficiency of the detector.

A SPC\_LINES\_ASCII-file will generate a SPEC\_CAL\_LINES-file, and a SPC\_QEFF\_ASCII-file will generate a SPEC\_CAL\_QEFF-file.

The current SPEC\_CAL\_LINES- and SPEC\_CAL\_QEFF-files are generated using the ASCII-files in the catalogs/ directory of the VISIR source-code distribution.

## OPTIONS

- **--qeff** *\<float\>*

Ignored (float; default: 1.0). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **visir.visir\_util\_spc\_txt2fits.qeff** \[default = *1.0*\].

Note that it is possible to create a configuration file containing these options, along with suitable default values. Please refer to the details provided by the 'esorex --help' command.
