# vimos\_ima\_fringe(7)

Fringe frame creation for imaging

## NAME

vimos\_ima\_fringe - Fringe frame creation for imaging

## SYNOPSIS

esorex **vimos\_ima\_fringe** \[OPTIONS\] FILE.sof

## DESCRIPTION

vimos\_ima\_fringe -- VIMOS fringe frame creation recipe.

Take a list of science frames and correct them to remove bias, dark and flat field signatures. Combine the images to form a new master fringe frame

The program accepts the following files in the SOF:

    Tag Description

OBJECT A list of raw science images\
     MASTER\_BIAS A master bias frame\
     MASTER\_DARK A master dark frame\
     MASTER\_TWILIGHT\_FLAT A master flat frame\
     MASTER\_CONF A master confidence map\
MASTER\_READGAIN A master readgain table All of these are required.

## OPTIONS

- **--prettynames** *\<bool\>*

Use pretty product names? (bool; default: False). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **vimos.vimos\_ima\_fringe.prettynames** \[default = *False*\].

- **--psm\_ipix** *\<int\>*

Minimum pixel area for each detected object (int; default: 5). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **vimos.vimos\_ima\_fringe.psm\_ipix** \[default = *5*\].

- **--psm\_thresh** *\<float\>*

Detection threshold in sigma above sky (float; default: 3.0). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **vimos.vimos\_ima\_fringe.psm\_thresh** \[default = *3.0*\].

- **--psm\_nbsize** *\<int\>*

Background smoothing box size (int; default: 64). The full name of this option for the EsoRex configuration file is **vimos.vimos\_ima\_fringe.psm\_nbsize** \[default = *64*\].

Note that it is possible to create a configuration file containing these options, along with suitable default values. Please refer to the details provided by the 'esorex --help' command.
