# vga\_getch(3)

wait for a key

## NAME

vga\_getch - wait for a key

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<vga.h\>**

**int vga\_getch(void);**

## DESCRIPTION

waits for a key press just like [**getchar**(3)](/getchar/3.md) would.

For a non blocking check for a keypress use [**vga\_getkey**(3)](/vga_getkey/3.md) or use [**vga\_waitevent**(3)](/vga_waitevent/3.md) if you want to wait for several events to occur at once.
