## NAME

update\_virus\_scanners - a script to update virus scanners used by MailScanner.

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the **update\_virus\_scanners** options.

This manual page was written for the Debian(TM) distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

**update\_virus\_scanners** is helper script for MailScanner, a freely distributable E-Mail gateway virus scanner and spam detector. update\_virus\_scanners tests which virus scanners are installed and tries to update them.

To find installed virus scanners update\_virus\_scanners uses the list of virus scanners, their wrappers and location, in /etc/MailScanner/virus.scanners.conf. To update a virus scanner it calls the correspondig update scipt in /etc/MailScanner/autoupdate/.
