# trick-chktmp(1)

## NAME

trick-chktmp

## SYNOPSIS

**trick-chktmp** \[ --libpath directory \] \[ command \]

**trick-chktmp** Simple check for suspicious writes to /tmp, i.e. thouse forgetting to use the EXCL mode.

## DESCRIPTION

By setting the VPATH environment variable appropiratly, and setting LD\_PRELOAD to **[libtricks(1)](/libtricks/1.md)** the mentioned library will create an environment where writes are /tmp are checked, and error messages to stderr are generated for every suscpicous write.

Note that this is not in any way \`safe': statically linked binaries will still be able to write to /tmp, without libtricks noticing it.

The main purpose of this script is to show an example of how to work with **[libtricks(1)](/libtricks/1.md) .**

### OPTIONS

- *--libpath path*
