trick-chktmp

SYNOPSIS

trick-chktmp [ --libpath directory ] [ command ]

trick-chktmp Simple check for suspicious writes to /tmp, i.e. thouse forgetting to use the EXCL mode.

DESCRIPTION

By setting the VPATH environment variable appropiratly, and setting LD_PRELOAD to libtricks(1) the mentioned library will create an environment where writes are /tmp are checked, and error messages to stderr are generated for every suscpicous write.

Note that this is not in any way `safe': statically linked binaries will still be able to write to /tmp, without libtricks noticing it.

The main purpose of this script is to show an example of how to work with libtricks(1) .

OPTIONS

--libpath path: specify the path of the libtrick library. Default: /usr/lib/libtricks/
