## SYNOPSIS

**tools86** *objfile*\
 **tools86 -E**

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the **tools86** command. This manual page was written for the **Debian GNU/Linux** distribution (but may be used by others), because the original program does not have a manual page.

**tools86** can operate in two different ways.  When called with an object file, **tools86** converts it into a **GNU a.out** object file, suitable for linking with **GNU ld**. You can only have one segment in the object file. **tools86 may also be called with the** **-E** option, in which case it acts as a preprocessor for as86.  Please refer to the source code for the exact steps involved in the preprocessing.
