titrax(1x)

a manager for time lists

NAME

titrax - a manager for time lists

SYNOPSIS

titrax [-toolkitoption ...] [-option ...] [file to edit]

DESCRIPTION

The titrax program displays a list of projects, with an elapsed-time clock for each project. The clock ajadecent to the currently highlighted project will be running, showing the time used as HH:MM.

It also saves the stuff to a file for each day.

The day is called YYYY-MM-DD, and is located in the $HOME/.TimeTracker directory. If you don't like this, set the environment variable TITRAXDIR to the directory you want instead.

If it is given a filename, it tries to locate this in the ~/.TimeTracker directory and gives you a chance to edit it. When doing this, "save" and "load" buttons appear, together with the filename, and it does NOT count the time.

It reads the projects from the file "projectlist" in the ~/.TimeTracker directory.

The auxillary PERL program "sumtitra" may be used to sum the files to give an hours-worked list for each week.

To the right of the command box is a counter that lists how much time has passed, in the format "HH:MM[+-]MM". The last number is how many minutes you have added or subtracted since TITRAX started.

COMMANDS

The command buttons available are:

quit

Self-explanatory

+

Add 5 minutes to current project

-

Subtract 5 minutes from current project

add project

Give a name that will be added to the projectlist
The new project is added after the currently selected project; if there is no selected project, it is added as the first project.

edit project

Change the time worked on the project. There is also a button within this dialog box for deleting it from the projectlist.

pause

Stop counting the time

BUTTONS

In the list, the left button will select the project. The middle button will edit it, and the right button will move 10 minutes from the current project to the one under the pointer.

All this is configurable via app-defaults.

OPTIONS

titrax accepts all of the standard X Toolkit command line options along with the additional options listed below:

-help

This option indicates that a brief summary of the allowed options should be printed on the standard error. NOT IMPLEMENTED YET.

-pi, +pi

Turns off (or on) displaying of the current project in the icon name

-ip

Icon prefix string, to avoid the titrax icon jumping up and down in a sorted TWM iconbox when the project changes

-sp

Start in paused mode (no active project)

-ap hh:mm

Set a time for titrax to automatically go into pause mode. This is handy if you have a tendency to forget to pause titrax when you leave for the day and leave it running all night. Time is in 24 hour format.

-dir

Work in another Titrax directory

The following standard X Toolkit command line arguments are commonly used with titrax:

-bg color

This option specifies the color to use for the background of the window. The default is white.

-display host:display

This option specifies the X server to contact.

-xrm resourcestring

This option specifies a resource string to be used.

X DEFAULTS

This program uses the X Toolkit and Athena widgets. The class name for the application is Titrax. It understands all of the core resource names and classes.

There are a number of options that can be set by resources; read the app-defaults file for details.
