# start-procmeter(1x)

start procmeter and a number of programs to feed data to it

## NAME

start-procmeter - start procmeter and a number of programs to feed data to it

## SYNOPSIS

**start-procmeter** *\[program \[args...\]\] \[program \[args\]\] ... \[-- procmeter-args\]*

## DESCRIPTION

**start-procmeter** cleanly starts procmeter, as well as any number of programs that feed data into it to generate user-defined statistics. It also handles cleanly stopping the feeder programs when procmeter exits. It is possible to start feeder programs manually, but complicated. This script simplifies things a lot.

## OPTIONS

- **program \[args\]**

The feeder program to start up, along with any arguments. **start-procmeter** looks for the program in the current directory, in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/procmeter/, and on the PATH, in that order.

- **procmeter-args**

Arguments to pass directly to procmeter.
