## NAME

slrnpull - download news into slrn news spool

## SYNOPSIS

**slrnpull** *\[-h hostname\] \[-d spooldir\] \[--expire\] \[--post\] \[--new-groups\]*

## DESCRIPTION

Slrn is capable of allowing a user to read news offline. This is accomplished by using slrn in conjunction with the the **slrnpull** program. Basically, **slrnpull** pulls a small newsfeed from an NNTP server which slrn will subsequently read.

## OPTIONS

- **-d spooldir**

Specify the directory to download news into. Default is /var/spool/slrnpull.

- **-h hostname**

Specify the name of the NNTP server that will be used for pulling the news feed. If not specified, the value of the NNTPSERVER variable is used.

- **--expire**

Run in expire mode. No attempt will be made to download news.

- **--post**

Post any out-going articles, but do not attempt to download any new articles from the server.

- **--new-groups**

Query the server to see if there are any new groups.
