# setmixer(1)

## NAME

setmixer -- set assorted mixer controls on a sound card

## SYNOPSIS

**setmixer** \[-V\] \[control value .... \]\
where \`control' is one of the following names: *vol, bass, treble, synth, pcm, speaker, line, mic, cd, mix, pcm2,* *rec*.

## DESCRIPTION

The **setmixer** program is meant mainly for adjusting values of controls of a soundcard mixer in a startup files and shell scripts. Names of controls are actually taken from *\<sys/soundcard.h\>* header file with which sources were compiled. Values of controls are integer numbers in a range from 0 to 100. If control is for a stereo device then, optionally, a value can be given as a \`comma separated' pair with a value for a left and right channel (for example -- 80,90). Single number for a stereo device will set the same level on both channels.

## OPTIONS

- **-V,**

show resulting settings. When this option is used without giving any *control value* pairs, then current levels of mixer devices is shown.

## FILES
