## NAME

savews - saves the WindowMaker workspace state

## SYNOPSIS

**savews**

## DESCRIPTION

**savews** scans the list of X11 clients running on the current display and the host where it was started from and outputs the commands used to start those clients to stdout as a shell script that can lauched later to restore the saved state of the WorkSpace. It also saves the geometry.

## ENVIRONMENT

- HOSTNAME

savews uses this environment variable to determine the name of the host where it's running. Thus, it saves the commands started on that host.

## FILES

- GNUSTEP\_USER\_ROOT/Library/WindowMaker/.workspace\_state

wmaker looks for this file, and if found, launches it before starting the WindowManager.
