remove sequentially retrieved item from the rulex dictionary

## NAME

rulexdb\_remove\_this\_item - remove sequentially retrieved item from the rulex dictionary

## SYNOPSIS

#include <rulexdb.h>

int rulexdb_remove_this_item(RULEXDB *rulexdb, int item_type);
```

## DESCRIPTION

The **rulexdb\_remove\_this\_item**() function removes the last accessed via [**rulexdb\_seq**(3)](/rulexdb_seq/3.md) lexical item from the dictionary dataset defined by *item\_type* argument that may accept one of the following values:

- **RULEXDB\_LEXBASE**

  Remove item from the **Implicit** dictionary.

- **RULEXDB\_EXCEPTION**

  Remove item from the **Explicit** dictionary.

Note that the data type must be specified explicitly. The value **RULEXDB\_DEFAULT** is not allowed here.

The argument *rulexdb* references the database to deal with.

## RETURN VALUE

The **rulexdb\_remove\_this\_item**() function returns **RULEXDB\_SUCCESS** which is zero when specified item was successfully removed, positive value **RULEXDB\_SPECIAL** when this record is already deleted, or negative error code in the case of other failure.

## ERRORS

- **RULEXDB\_FAILURE**

  Referenced database has not been opened, internal data structures are corrupted or some other general failure has occurred.

- **RULEXDB\_EPARM**

  The argument *rulexdb* or *item\_type* has an invalid value.

- **RULEXDB\_EACCESS**

  The database is not opened for updating or the dataset was never accessed sequentially yet.
