# rtrd(8)

RPKI-to-Router (RTR) daemon

## NAME

**rtrd** – RPKI-to-Router (RTR) daemon

## SYNOPSIS

**rtrd** \[**-fvV**\] \[**-b** *bind\_address*\] \[**-m** *max\_version*\] \[**-p** *port*\] \[**-s** *socket*\]

## DESCRIPTION

The **rtrd** daemon is an RPKI-to-Router (RTR) cache server. The **rtrd** program supports RTR protocol versions 0, 1, and 2.

The options are as follows:

- **-b** *bind\_address*

Use *bind\_address* as the listener address for connections from clients. The default *bind\_address* is ‘0.0.0.0’.

- **-f**

  Remain in foreground.

- **-m** *max\_version*

Use *max\_version* as the maximum supported version in protocol version negotiation. The default protocol is version 2.

- **-p** *port*

Listen on *port* for client connections. The default port is 323.

- **-s** *socket*

Use *socket* instead of the default */var/run/rtrd.sock* for communication with [rtrctl(8)](/rtrctl/8.md).

- **-v**

  Increase verbosity.

- **-V**

  Display version and exit.

## FILES

- */var/run/rtrd.sock*

Unix-domain socket used for communication with [rtrctl(8)](/rtrctl/8.md).

## EXIT STATUS

The **rtrd** utility exits 0 on success, and \>0 if an error occurs.
