# rtrctl(8)

control the RTR cache daemon

## NAME

**rtrctl** – control the RTR cache daemon

## SYNOPSIS

**rtrctl** \[**-s** *socket*\] *command* \[*argument*\]

## DESCRIPTION

The **rtrctl** program controls the [rtrd(8)](/rtrd/8.md) daemon.

The options are as follows:

- **-s** *socket*

  Use *socket* instead of the default */var/run/rtrd.sock* to communicate with [rtrd(8)](/rtrd/8.md).

The following commands are available:

- **reload** \[*file*\]

  Import RPKI payloads from *file* into [rtrd(8)](/rtrd/8.md). The format of *file* is compatible with the [bgpd(8)](/bgpd/8.md) configuration format.

- **stats**

  Export statistics in OpenMetrics format to standard output.

## FILES

- */var/run/rtrd.sock*

  Unix-domain socket used for communication with [rtrd(8)](/rtrd/8.md).

- */var/db/rpki-client/openbgpd*

  Default RPKI payloads file.

## EXIT STATUS

The **rtrctl** utility exits 0 on success, and \>0 if an error occurs.
