# routed-query(8)

querying remote machine running routed for routing informations

## NAME

**routed-query** – querying remote machine running **routed** for routing informations

## SYNOPSIS

**routed-query** \[-n\] \<host1\> \[host2\] \[host3\] ..

## DESCRIPTION

**Routed-query** is a diagnostic tool used to query remote machine(s) running **routed** , given as parameter(s), for exported routing informations. Each machine from the list is queried with RIPCMD\_REQUEST command, and responds with RIPCMD\_RESPONSE UDP packet that contains information about all routes it exports, including their subnet masks and metrics. If the -n parameter is specified, **routed-query** will not attempt to reverse DNS-resolve exported IP addresses and subnetworks (from /etc/networks).
