# rlist\_next(3)

follow the next pointer of an rlist entry

## NAME

rlist\_next - follow the next pointer of an rlist entry

## SYNOPSIS

\#include \<roy.h\>

RListEntry \* rlist\_next (RListEntry \* *entry*);

## DESCRIPTION

Follow the *entry*'s next pointer. The [*rlist\_next*(3)](/rlist_next/3.md) api is implmented using a macro so using the RListEntry \* as the *entry* and the return value is only advisorial. See [*rlist*(3)](/rlist/3.md) on how to create RListEntry compatible entry structs. The [*rlist\_prev*(3)](/rlist_prev/3.md) call does the exact opposite of this call.

## RETURN VALUE

This call returns *entry*'s next pointer. If the return value is NULL then the *entry* is the last entry in the list.

## ERRORS

A call to [*rlist\_next*(3)](/rlist_next/3.md) will never fail.

## MACRO

The [*rlist\_next*(3)](/rlist_next/3.md) api is implemented using a macro.
