ptkfinger1

Perl/tk finger client for x

Usage

ptkfinger [address]

Overview

ptkfinger is a finger (TCP port 79) client for X, written in Perl/Tk.

Finger is usually used to provide information about a user at a certain host, but it is also sometimes used to provide a source of other information.

As well as simple finger ability, it also provides an option for long finger output.

Options

address

The address to finger (user for local users, or user@host).

Requirements

ptkfinger requires a fairly up-to-date version of Perl (version 5.002 or better). It also (obviously) requires Perl/Tk. Perl/Tk is available in the Nick-Ing Simmons author directory at CPAN. It is also available as a Debian package.
