# pp-install(1)

install databases on a PalmPilot

## NAME

pp-install - install databases on a PalmPilot

## SYNOPSIS

**pp-install** *\[-u USERNAME\] \[FILES...\]*

## DESCRIPTION

This program installs databases onto a PalmPilot, by spooling it for later processing by the PalmPython "Install" conduit.  If no files are specified, it pops up a GUI file selector (you must have the python-tk package installed for this to work); otherwise, it simply copies the named files (which must be PalmPilot databases) into the PalmPython data directory for later reference.

## OPTIONS

- **-u USERNAME**

  User name to use when installing, instead of the default specified PalmPython's configuration files.  The requested user must exist (see *[pp-userconfig(1)](/pp-userconfig/1.md)* for more information).
