# pmap\_init(9)

initialize the pmap subsystem

## NAME

**pmap\_init** – initialize the pmap subsystem

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<sys/param.h\>**

**#include \<vm/vm.h\>**

**#include \<vm/pmap.h\>**

*void*\

**pmap\_init**(*void*);

## DESCRIPTION

The **pmap\_init**() function initializes the [pmap(9)](/pmap/9.md) sub-system. It is called during system initialization by **vm\_mem\_init**(), to initialize any structures that the **pmap\_init** system needs in order to map between physical and virtual memory.
