# pmap\_copy\_page(9)

copy physical memory pages

## NAME

**pmap\_copy**, **pmap\_copy\_page** – copy physical memory pages

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<sys/param.h\>**

**#include \<vm/vm.h\>**

**#include \<vm/pmap.h\>**

*void*\

**pmap\_copy**(*pmap\_t dst\_pmap*, *pmap\_t src\_pmap*, *vm\_offset\_t dst\_addr*, *vm\_size\_t len*, *vm\_offset\_t src\_addr*);

*void*\

**pmap\_copy\_page**(*vm\_page\_t src*, *vm\_page\_t dst*);

## DESCRIPTION

The **pmap\_copy**() function copies the range specified by *src\_addr* and *len* from the source physical map *src\_pmap* to the destination physical map *dst\_pmap* at the address *dst\_addr*.

The **pmap\_copy\_page**() function copies the physical page *src* to the physical page *dst*, by mapping the page into kernel virtual address space (KVA), and using **bcopy**() to copy the page.

## IMPLEMENTATION NOTES

The **pmap\_copy**() routine is only advisory and need not do anything. Actually implementing it may seriously reduce system performance.

The **pmap\_copy\_page**() routine only operates upon a single page.
