# parseIOR(1)

display information about a stringified CORBA IOR

## NAME

parseIOR - display information about a stringified CORBA IOR

## SYNOPSIS

**parseIOR** \[**-v**\] *STRINGIFIED-IOR*

## DESCRIPTION

**parseIOR** invokes the ILU IIOP IOR parsing code on the specified CORBA IOR, and prints a summary of the results to standard output. The object key is displayed as a string, with non-printing characters displayed using two-digit hex strings prefixed with the hash character; any reliable type information in the IOR is displayed; any useful guess about the ORB type is displayed; the version of IIOP in use, along with the host and port, are displayed. If the verbose option is selected with the **-v** option, the internal ILU debugging statements will be shown as the parsing process takes place.
