# parrot\_timeout(1)

changes or resets the main timeout for the current parrot session

## NAME

**parrot\_timeout** - changes or resets the main timeout for the current **parrot** session

## SYNOPSIS

FCparrot\_timeout *\<time\>*FT

## DESCRIPTION

FCparrot\_timeoutFT changes the main timeout for the current **parrot** session to *\<time\>*.  If *\<time\>* was not given, it resets it to the default value (5 minutes if an interactive session or 1 hour for a non-interactive session).

## OPTIONS

FCparrot\_timeoutFT has no options.

## EXIT STATUS

On success, returns zero.  On failure, returns non-zero.

## EXAMPLES

To change the manager timeout to 5 hours:

  % parrot\_run tcsh % parrot\_timeout 5h % ./my\_executable % exit

To change it to 30 seconds for one program and then reset it to the default value

  % parrot\_run tcsh % parrot\_timeout 40m % ./my\_executable % parrot\_timeout % ./my\_second\_executable % exit
