# palmpythonconfig(1)

set up PalmPython configuration files and directories

## NAME

palmpythonconfig - set up PalmPython configuration files and directories

## SYNOPSIS

**palmpythonconfig** *\[-s\]*

## DESCRIPTION

This program sets up the configuration files and data directories used by PalmPython (and possibly other PalmPilot-related utilities). When run, it prompts for a few required values, and writes the configuration file. At most prompts, you can enter '?' to get more information about a particular setting.

With the **-s** option, **palmpythonconfig** sets up the system-wide configuration file and data directory, and thus should be run as root. Otherwise, it sets up a configuration file and data directory in the current user's home directory.

This program will try to do the right thing if the configuration file and/or data directory already exist, editing the existing option values.

## FILES

- /etc/palm.conf

  System-wide configuration file.

- \~/.palm.conf

  Per-user configuration file.

- /var/state/palm

  System-wide data directory (default location).

- \~/Palm

  Per-user data directory (default location).
