# nws\_proxy(1)

aggregate multiple series for the Network Weather Service

## NAME

nws\_proxy - aggregate multiple series for the Network Weather Service

## SYNOPSIS

**nws\_proxy** \[-N host\]\[-As\]\[-e file\]\[-l file\]\[-i file\]\[-p port\]

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page explains the **nws\_proxy** program. The nws\_proxy can query **[nws\_nameserver(1)](/nws_nameserver/1.md)** to find **[nws\_memory(1)](/nws_memory/1.md)** which are responsible for NWS series and start autofetching them. It's purpose is to avoid the high latency when retrieving a large number of NWS series. It returns only the last value/forecast pair.

The **nws\_proxy** can be controlled and queried thorugh the **[nws\_ctrl(1)](/nws_ctrl/1.md)** program (check for the *proxy* and *proxyFetch* command.

**WARNING:** the **nws\_proxy** can use a lot of memory if the number of series is large.
