## DESCRIPTION

The command **netdaemon** runs a daemon that scans for network devices and provides this information to other userspace applications. Other applications such as [**netapplet**(1)](/netapplet/1.md) can communicate with netdaemon and request changes in the active network device or the essid of wireless networks.
