# mkvcdfs(1)

Create VCD filesystem images

## NAME

mkvcdfs — Create VCD filesystem images

## SYNOPSIS

**mkvcdfs** *mpg-file* \[*mpg-file*\] \[*...*\]

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the **mkvcdfs** command.

This manual page was written for the **Debian GNU/Linux** distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

**mkvcdfs** is a program that creates video CD images that can be written to CD-ROMs using the **cdrdao** package. Video CDs are a way of laying out MPEG data on CD, and can be played by a large proportion of standalone DVD players, as well as most MPEG-playing software.

## OPTIONS

The only argument the program accepts a list of the MPG files to convert to a VCD filesystem image. It outputs the files **vcd\_image.bin** which contains the VCD image, and **vcd.toc** which contains the TOC. The latter can be used as an argument to **cdrdao** to write the VCD to a CD-ROM.
