## NAME

mktmp - a program to create temporary files

## SYNOPSIS

**mktmp**

## DESCRIPTION

**mktmp** is a program for creating unique files.  When started with no arguments, the program creates a file and prints the name of this file to the standard output.  Normally these files will be in the /tmp directory.\
 **mktmp** is distributed with the [**gtkfind**(1)](/gtkfind/1.md) program.

## OPTIONS

None.

## BUGS

A program like this should be a standard part of any Unix-like system. Some systems have a [**mktemp**(1)](/mktemp/1.md) program which is similar but not the same.\
