## NAME

mkindex - script to process LaTeX index and glossary files

## SYNOPSIS

**mkindex** *BASENAME*\[.idx\] ...

## DESCRIPTION

**mkindex** runs [**makeindex**(1)](/makeindex/1.md) on any index (`.idx`) or glossary (`.glo`) files created by TeXing the file *BASENAME.tex.*
