## NAME

**mixer** - Open Sound System mixer (control panel) device

## DESCRIPTION

**Mixer devices are used by control panel and mixer programs (such as [ossxmix(1)](/ossxmix/1.md))** **to change volumes and other settings of the sound cards in the system.**
