## NAME

md2html - convert Markdown to HTML

## SYNOPSIS

**md2html** \[*OPTION*\]... \[*FILE*\]

## OPTIONS

### General options:

- **-o**, **--output=***OUTFILE*

  Write output to *OUTFILE* instead of [**stdout**(3)](/stdout/3.md)

- **-f**, **--full-html**

  Generate full HTML document, including header

- **-x**, **--xhtml**

  Generate XHTML instead of HTML

- **-s**, **--stat**

  Measure time of input parsing

- **-h**, **--help**

  Display help and exit

- **-v**, **--version**

  Display version and exit

### Markdown dialect options:

- **--commonmark**

  CommonMark (the default)

- **--gfm , --github**

  Github Flavored Markdown

Note: dialect options are equivalent to some combination of flags below.

### Markdown extension options:

- **--fadmonitions**

  Enable admonitions

- **--fcollapse-whitespace**

  Collapse non-trivial whitespace

- **--ffootnotes**

  Enable footnote references (\[^label\])

- **--fhard-soft-breaks**

  Force all soft breaks to act as hard breaks **--fhighlight** Enable highlight spans (==text==)

- **--finsert**

  Enable insert spans (++text++)

- **--flatex-math**

  Enable LaTeX style mathematics spans

- **--fpermissive-atx-headers**

  Allow ATX headers without delimiting space

- **--fpermissive-email-autolinks**

  Allow e-mail autolinks without "\<", "\>" and "mailto:"

- **--fpermissive-url-autolinks**

  Allow URL autolinks without "\<" and "\>" delimiters

- **--fpermissive-www-autolinks**

  Allow WWW autolinks without any scheme (e.g., "www.example.com")

- **--fpermissive-autolinks**

  Enable all 3 of the above permissive autolinks options

- **--fpreserve-blank-lines**

  Render extra blank lines between blocks as \<br\>.

- **--fspoilers**

  Enable spoiler spans (\|\|hidden text\|\|)

- **--fstrikethrough**

  Enable strikethrough spans

- **--fsubscripts**

  Enable subscript spans (~text~)

- **--fsuperscripts**

  Enable superscript spans (^text^)0

- **--ftables**

  Enable tables

- **--ftasklists**

  Enable task lists

- **--funderline**

  Enable underline spans

- **--fwiki-links**

  Enable wiki links

### Markdown suppression options:

- **--fno-html-blocks**

  Disable raw HTML blocks

- **--fno-html-spans**

  Disable raw HTML spans

- **--fno-html**

  Same as **--fno-html-blocks --fno-html-spans**

- **--fno-indented-code**

  Disable indented code blocks

### HTML generator options:

- **--fverbatim-entities**

  Do not translate entities

- **--html-title=TITLE**

  Sets the title of the document

- **--html-css=URL**

  In full HTML or XHTML mode add a css link
