# marlais(1)

the Marlais Dylan(TM) interpreter

## NAME

marlais - the Marlais Dylan(TM) interpreter

## SYNOPSIS

**marlais** \[ **-d** \] \[ **-h** \] \[ **-n** \] \[ **-s** \] \[ **-p** \] \[ **-v** \]\
\
         \[ **-e** \<expression\> \| *init-file ...* \]

## DESCRIPTION

This manual page documents briefly the **marlais** command. This manual page was written for the Debian GNU/Linux distribution because the original program does not have a manual page.

**marlais** is the Marlais Dylan(TM) interpreter. It directly evaluates programs written in a variant of Apple Computer's Dylan programming language.

Each of the specified init-files must contain Dylan code to be evaluated before the interpreter begins its read-eval-print loop. If errors occur during load of the init-files, the interpreter will terminate its execution.

## OPTIONS

- **-e**

Execute a Dylan expression, print resulting value, then exit.

- **-s**

Stay in interactor after executing an expression or file.

- **-n**

Suppress loading the system default Dylan init file.

- **-p**

Do not show continuation prompt for incomplete expressions.

- **-d**

  Generate parser debug output.

- **-h**

  Print help menu.

- **-v**

  Print version number.
