ggiGetSelectFD(3ggi)

ggiGetSelectFD3ggi

Obtain a file descriptor for a visual

Usage

#include <ggi/ggi.h>

int ggiGetSelectFD(ggi_visual_t vis);

Overview

ggiGetSelectFD obtains a (Unix) file descriptor for the specified visual. This file descriptor then can be passed as part of a set to select(2) -- when there is input available, it becomes readable. This is useful in user interfaces where you need to wait for multiple inputs at once.

Return value

File descriptor, or -1 if it is not available (you will need to poll the visual for events then).

When the file descriptor becomes readable, use ggiEventPoll and ggiEventRead to get the event.
