dphys-kernel-cputype1
Determine which custom kernel to use
Usage
dphys-kernel-cputype
Overview
dphys-kernel-cputype determines what processor type, if SMP is used and memory site and generates an descriptor string showing all of these.
The string is compatible with that used by dphys-kernel-packages(1) to generate kernel configs and name the generated /lib/modules/*/* and kernel .deb packages. So it can be used to select what custom kernel and modules to install, such as by dphys-admin(8)
Result is an string of format <processor>[-smp]-<memory>. <processor> can be any of p1, p3, p4, k7 or k8. -smp is added if SMP support is wanted. memory can be any of 1gb, 4gb or 64gb. Examples: p1-1gb p3-1gb p4-4gb k7-smp-1gb k7-smp-64gb k8-4gb.
The lshw program is required to find out what hardware is present.
