unzips a file, if appropriate

## NAME

lr\_inflate - unzips a file, if appropriate

## SYNOPSIS

**lr\_inflate** *file*

## DESCRIPTION

**lr\_inflate** inspect the fileextension of *file*, and invokes [*zcat*(1)](/zcat/1.md). It writes the (possibly) unzipped *file* to a newly created file in TMPDIR. It echos the name of the new file to stdout.

**lr\_inflate** is called by [*lr\_processmail*(1)](/lr_processmail/1.md).
