# lr\_config(1)

configure the Lire software

## NAME

lr\_config - configure the Lire software

## SYNOPSIS

**lr\_config**

## DESCRIPTION

lr\_config asks questions to the user, and builds configuration files using the answers. It tries hard to suggest reasonable defaults.

Currently, files like *sysconfdir*/defaults.local, *sysconfdir*/cron.defaults.local and *sysconfdir*/*superservice*/*period*.*service*.*n*.local are written.

## BUGS

On Solaris, one has to run something like

```
 % { echo '0 10 * * * lr_cron daily'; echo '0 10 * * 0 lr_cron weekly' } > \
     crontab
 % crontab crontab
 % rm crontab
```

instead of the oneliner which is displayed at the end of the config script.

This script is not portable in the true sense of the word: it uses shell functions. If your OS's /bin/sh doesn't support this, you could change the script's shebang manually to e.g. /bin/ksh. (This is not an issue on Solaris, OpenBSD, FreeBSD or Linux, since their /bin/sh does support shell functions.)
