# lpost(1)

post articles to local server using rnews.

## NAME

lpost - post articles to local server using rnews.

## SYNOPSIS

*lpost* \[ -v \]

## OPTIONS

\-v verbose, show each article as it is uploaded.

## NOTE

Use the batch function of suck and avoid lpost, this is not the most efficient way of doing things. It is kept solely as a link to the past, since some people still use it. It is not compiled nor installed by default. To build and install lpost, from the source directory, run:

 ./configure

 make install\_lpost

## DESCRIPTION

*lpost* (local post) reads stdin and pipes the articles to *rnews,* typically found in /usr/lib/news. If it is located elsewhere, change *#define RNEWS* in *suck\_config.h.* A typical way to use lpost is:

zcat output.gz \| lpost

This could take a while, so be patient.

## EXIT VALUES

0 on success, -1 on failure.
