## NAME

lfc\_getgrpbygid - get group name associated with a given virtual gid

## SYNOPSIS

**int lfc\_getgrpbygid (gid\_t** *gid***,** **char \****groupname***)**

## DESCRIPTION

**lfc\_getgrpbygid** gets the group name associated with a given virtual gid.

- *gid*

  specifies the Virtual Group Id.

- *groupname*

  points at a buffer to receive the associated group name. The buffer must be at least 256 characters long.

## RETURN VALUE

This routine returns 0 if the operation was successful or -1 if the operation failed. In the latter case, **serrno** is set appropriately.

## ERRORS

- **EFAULT**

  *groupname* is a NULL pointer.

- **EINVAL**

  This gid does not exist in the internal mapping table.

- **SENOSHOST**

  Host unknown.

- **SENOSSERV**

  Service unknown.

- **SECOMERR**

  Communication error.

- **ENSNACT**

  Name server is not running or is being shutdown.
