rename a LFC file or directory in the name server

## NAME

lfc-rename - rename a LFC file or directory in the name server

## SYNOPSIS

**lfc-rename** *oldpath* *newpath*

## DESCRIPTION

**lfc-rename** renames a LFC file or directory in the name server.

This requires write permission in the parent directories.

If *oldpath* or *newpath* does not start with **/**, it is prefixed by the content of the **LFC\_HOME** environment variable.

## EXIT STATUS

This program returns 0 if the operation was successful or \>0 if the operation failed.
