# ippl-listfiles(8)

list ippl logfiles

## NAME

ippl-listfiles - list ippl logfiles

## SYNOPSIS

**ippl-listfiles** \[ **-f** *config file* \] \[ **-h** \| **--help** \]

## DESCRIPTION

**ippl** is a daemon logging IP packets received. Log files can be specified in the *ippl.conf* configuration file.

Those log files can grow quite big. Therefore the log files need to be rotated. On a Debian GNU/Linux system most of the files are rotated once per week.

This program helps the rotation script to determine which log files need to be rotated.

## OPTIONS

- **-f** *config file*

Specify an alternative configuration file instead of */etc/ippl.conf*, which is the default.

- **-h**, **--help**

Print a usage message on standard output and exit successfully.

## SEE ALSO

[**ippl.conf**(5)](/ippl.conf/5.md), [**ippl**(8)](/ippl/8.md), [**savelog**(8)](/savelog/8.md).

## NOTE

This program and the corresponding man page is based on Martin Schulze's syslogd-listfiles script and man page.
