gss\_inquire\_saslname\_for\_mech - API function

## SYNOPSIS

**OM\_uint32 gss\_inquire\_saslname\_for\_mech(OM\_uint32 \*** *minor\_status***, const gss\_OID** *desired\_mech***, gss\_buffer\_t** *sasl\_mech\_name***, gss\_buffer\_t** *mech\_name***, gss\_buffer\_t** *mech\_description***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- OM\_uint32 \* minor\_status

  (Integer, modify) Mechanism specific status code.

- const gss\_OID desired\_mech

  (OID, read) Identifies the GSS-API mechanism to query.

- gss\_buffer\_t sasl\_mech\_name

  (buffer, character-string, modify, optional)\
     Buffer to receive SASL mechanism name.  The application must free\
     storage associated with this name after use with a call to\
     **gss\_release\_buffer()**.

- gss\_buffer\_t mech\_name

  (buffer, character-string, modify, optional) Buffer to\
     receive human readable mechanism name.  The application must free\
     storage associated with this name after use with a call to\
     **gss\_release\_buffer()**.

- gss\_buffer\_t mech\_description

  (buffer, character-string, modify, optional)\
     Buffer to receive description of mechanism.  The application must\
     free storage associated with this name after use with a call to\
     **gss\_release\_buffer()**.

## DESCRIPTION

Output the SASL mechanism name of a GSS-API mechanism.  It also returns a name and description of the mechanism in a user friendly form.

## RETURNS

\`GSS\_S\_COMPLETE\`: Successful completion.

\`GSS\_S\_BAD\_MECH\`: The *desired\_mech* OID is unsupported.
