# gss\_copy\_oid(3)

API function

## NAME

gss\_copy\_oid - API function

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<gss.h\>**

**OM\_uint32 gss\_copy\_oid(OM\_uint32 \*** *minor\_status***, const gss\_OID** *src\_oid***, gss\_OID** *dest\_oid***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- OM\_uint32 \* minor\_status

(integer, modify) Mechanism specific status code.

- const gss\_OID src\_oid

(Object ID, read) The object identifier to copy.

- gss\_OID dest\_oid

(Object ID, modify) The resultant copy of *src\_oid*.\
Storage associated with this name must be freed by the\
application, but **gss\_release\_oid()** cannot be used generally as it\
deallocate the the oid structure itself too (use\
**gss\_duplicate\_oid()** if you don't want this problem.)

## DESCRIPTION

Make an exact copy of the given OID, that shares no memory areas with the original.

WARNING: This function is a GNU GSS specific extension, and is not part of the official GSS API.

Return value:

\`GSS\_S\_COMPLETE\`: Successful completion.
