## NAME

gnutls\_x509\_crt\_sign - API function

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<gnutls/x509.h\>**

**int gnutls\_x509\_crt\_sign(gnutls\_x509\_crt\_t** *crt***, gnutls\_x509\_crt\_t** *issuer***, gnutls\_x509\_privkey\_t** *issuer\_key***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- gnutls\_x509\_crt\_t crt

  a certificate of type **gnutls\_x509\_crt\_t**

- gnutls\_x509\_crt\_t issuer

  is the certificate of the certificate issuer

- gnutls\_x509\_privkey\_t issuer\_key

  holds the issuer's private key

## DESCRIPTION

This function is the same a **gnutls\_x509\_crt\_sign2()** with no flags, and an appropriate hash algorithm. The hash algorithm used may vary between versions of GnuTLS, and it is tied to the security level of the issuer's public key.

## RETURNS

On success, **GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) is returned, otherwise a negative error value.
