## NAME

gnutls\_pubkey\_verify\_data - API function

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<gnutls/abstract.h\>**

**int gnutls\_pubkey\_verify\_data(gnutls\_pubkey\_t** *pubkey***, unsigned int** *flags***, const gnutls\_datum\_t \*** *data***, const gnutls\_datum\_t \*** *signature***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- gnutls\_pubkey\_t pubkey

  Holds the public key

- unsigned int flags

  Zero or one of **gnutls\_pubkey\_flags\_t**

- const gnutls\_datum\_t \* data

  holds the signed data

- const gnutls\_datum\_t \* signature

  contains the signature

## DESCRIPTION

This function will verify the given signed data, using the parameters from the certificate.

Deprecated. This function cannot be easily used securely.  Use **gnutls\_pubkey\_verify\_data2()** instead.

## RETURNS

In case of a verification failure **GNUTLS\_E\_PK\_SIG\_VERIFY\_FAILED**  is returned, and zero or positive code on success.
