**int gnutls\_psk\_format\_imported\_identity(const gnutls\_datum\_t \*** *identity***, const gnutls\_datum\_t \*** *context***, gnutls\_protocol\_t** *version***, gnutls\_digest\_algorithm\_t** *hash***, gnutls\_datum\_t \*** *imported\_identity***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- const gnutls\_datum\_t \* identity

  external identity

- const gnutls\_datum\_t \* context

  optional contextual information

- gnutls\_protocol\_t version

  protocol version to which the PSK is imported

- gnutls\_digest\_algorithm\_t hash

  hash algorithm used for KDF

- gnutls\_datum\_t \* imported\_identity

  where the imported identity is stored

## DESCRIPTION

This formats an external PSK identity  *identity* into an imported form, described in RFC 9258 as ImportedIdentity.

Upon success, the data field of  *imported\_identity* is allocated using **gnutls\_malloc()** and the caller must free the memory after use.

## RETURNS

**GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) on success, otherwise a negative error code.
