## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<gnutls/abstract.h\>**

**gnutls\_privkey\_type\_t gnutls\_privkey\_get\_type(gnutls\_privkey\_t** *key***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- gnutls\_privkey\_t key

  should contain a **gnutls\_privkey\_t** type

## DESCRIPTION

This function will return the type of the private key. This is actually the type of the subsystem used to set this private key.

## RETURNS

a member of the **gnutls\_privkey\_type\_t** enumeration on success, or a negative error code on error.
