## NAME

gnutls\_pk\_get\_id - API function

## SYNOPSIS

**#include \<gnutls/gnutls.h\>**

**gnutls\_pk\_algorithm\_t gnutls\_pk\_get\_id(const char \*** *name***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- const char \* name

  is a string containing a public key algorithm name.

## DESCRIPTION

Convert a string to a **gnutls\_pk\_algorithm\_t** value.  The names are compared in a case insensitive way.  For example, gnutls\_pk\_get\_id("RSA") will return **GNUTLS\_PK\_RSA**.

## RETURNS

a **gnutls\_pk\_algorithm\_t** id of the specified public key algorithm string, or **GNUTLS\_PK\_UNKNOWN** on failures.
