**int gnutls\_pcert\_list\_import\_x509\_file(gnutls\_pcert\_st \*** *pcert\_list***, unsigned \*** *pcert\_list\_size***, const char \*** *file***, gnutls\_x509\_crt\_fmt\_t** *format***, gnutls\_pin\_callback\_t** *pin\_fn***, void \*** *pin\_fn\_userdata***, unsigned int** *flags***);**

## ARGUMENTS

- gnutls\_pcert\_st \* pcert\_list

  The structures to store the certificates; must not contain initialized **gnutls\_pcert\_st** structures.

- unsigned \* pcert\_list\_size

  Initially must hold the maximum number of certs. It will be updated with the number of certs available.

- const char \* file

  A file or supported URI with the certificates to load

- gnutls\_x509\_crt\_fmt\_t format

  **GNUTLS\_X509\_FMT\_DER** or **GNUTLS\_X509\_FMT\_PEM** if a file is given

- gnutls\_pin\_callback\_t pin\_fn

  a PIN callback if not globally set

- void \* pin\_fn\_userdata

  parameter for the PIN callback

- unsigned int flags

  zero or flags from **gnutls\_certificate\_import\_flags**

## DESCRIPTION

This convenience function will import a certificate chain from the given file or supported URI to **gnutls\_pcert\_st** structures. The structures must be deinitialized afterwards using **gnutls\_pcert\_deinit()**.

This function will always return a sorted certificate chain.

## RETURNS

On success, **GNUTLS\_E\_SUCCESS** (0) is returned, otherwise a negative error value; if the  *pcert* list doesn't have enough space **GNUTLS\_E\_SHORT\_MEMORY\_BUFFER** will be returned.
